Monthly Devlog: November 29th - Last one till i release a demo
Alright, it's that time of the month where i post one of these again, and i gotta say something important this time around.
So, at least for now, I've just been posting these to show how this project evolves each passing month, it's something really nice to look back at, to think i came from being slow on adding things and breaking a lot of stuff, to now being able to add stuff in much less time than i did and with actual good implementation (or good I'm my current eyes, haha), I'm very much someone new on coding or err, well, I'm not an artist either, these are pretty much my first drawings as well and everything, the point is that I wanted to show a big project in its infancy to maybe learn something about this type of stuff, and well... that's why i released a prototype a while ago, so i could get some feedback about it and people could try what i was adding as it evolved, the thing is, I got only one person to try it, I'm happy with that, but like... I guess i couldn't really go along with the idea of having people try test builds, I also added a bonus something to show off once i got out of the prototype state, which i very much have, but i still have a lot of work to do for me to reach my current goal of releasing a good demo, from what i can tell no one has really claimed that bonus but I'll happily award it to my one commenter if they ever ask me to in the future, for now I'll remove it now or after i release the demo and probably upgrade it to something else, the page has been left with just me right now and i don't feel like talking to a wall because of it now, which is why i don't want to make these anymore, at least until i do have someone to actually read them.
Now, for what these devlogs are meant for, what has been added?
I'll go back to my original format for this devlog, so no screenshots or anything, i want to keep it short today:
- A lot of decorations were added.
- Added a new item.
- Added a lot of quality of life stuff, such as: items are now reequiped in their respective slot if earned again after running out of them and earning them again, you can now walk down stairs by holding down and to a side (or diagonally) instead of always having to drop off them, crouching is no longer too pritoritized when moving to prevent crouching accidentally as it restricts movement a lot.
- Added some interacteable background objects.
- Sketched three new enemies
- Fully added two new weapons along with some animation updates.
- Added input attack commands (currently only used by one of the new weapons).
- Added scrolling descriptions to items in the shop and status menu that were too long to be displayed normally.
- Added a new special.
- A lot of bug fixes.
At least i managed to do an even bigger list of additions than last month, that's a personal win for me, even if listing them like this doesn't make it justice.
Now I'll go to the shadows like a Crimson and lurk until i hit my target somewhere next year.
Until then, thank you for reading this, even just a view on this project's page means a lot to me.
